Eating Assistance — As a personalized caregiver, part of your daily tasks for your clients could include helping them eat properly. Your duties may include ensuring that any food placed down is within reach, the client has everything they need (i.e. utensils) to eat, food is cut into small bites, and more. Additionally, you may be asked to assist with meal prep and cooking.

Bathing Assistance — Helping your clients bathe may be a part of your duties. These tasks can include helping your clients in and out of the bathtub or shower safely, help getting properly cleaned, and more. Furthermore, you may be asked to provide toileting assistance as well.

Mobility Assistance — Some of your clients may need help walking around their homes. Your tasks could include assisting your client as they walk from room to room or outside, and it can also include working toward improving mobility.

Shopping Assistance — Ensuring that your client receives the items that they need is essential, so you may be tasked with shopping for them. Shopping can include going to get groceries, picking up prescriptions, or any other items that they need picked up.

Light Housekeeping — As a PCA, it may be part of your duties to partake in light housekeeping for your clients. This would entail picking up clutter, throwing away any trash, doing the dishes, and more, but not to the extent that a housekeeper would do. You will help with essential cleaning tasks that your client cannot perform themselves.

Customized Assistance — No client is the same and we allow our clients to request tasks as needed. As a personalized care assistant, expect your duties to vary from client-to-client, and potentially from visit-to-visit as well.
